Choral Fanfare (previously named Creative Generation (CGEN) Voices) is a biennial statewide program celebrating talented choirs in Queensland state schools. The program showcases the outstanding vocal talents from state school choirs through performance.

CGEN Voices started in 2017 and encompassed 2 divisions – a choral division and a secondary vocal soloist division. The choral division replaced Choral Fanfare, a program that has run regionally since 1997.

The emphasis for Choral Fanfare is on:

  • improving the quality of choirs
  • promoting the highest possible standard of performance
  • striving for excellence
  • encouraging participation.

In 2017 more than 10,000 students took part in the regional festivals and inaugural state final.

The 2019 Choral Fanfare festival will consist of regional festivals, regional finals and state grand final. Regional festivals will be held throughout May and June 2019 in various performance venues around the state with the state grand final to be held on 20 August 2019 at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.
